Terms of Service

Last updated September 17, 2026

About these terms

Lucy AI is an AI receptionist for dental practices. It is a product of Prometheus AI Labs ("we", "us"). These terms cover your use of this website (lucy-ai.dental), the Lucy AI dashboard (dashboard.lucy-ai.dental) and the Lucy AI service. By using any of them, you agree to these terms.

If your dental practice has a signed service agreement with us, that agreement controls where it differs from these terms. How we handle personal and patient information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Who can use Lucy AI

Lucy AI is built for dental practices and their staff. The dashboard is only for people a practice has invited. You must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms for yourself or on behalf of your practice.

Your account

  • Keep your password and two-step verification device to yourself. Don't share accounts.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Tell your practice administrator or us right away if you think someone else has used your account.
  • Your practice decides who has access and what each person can see, and can remove access at any time.

What Lucy does, and its limits

Lucy answers calls, text messages and web chats for a practice, books and changes appointments, answers common questions and passes conversations to the practice's staff.

Lucy is an AI system and can make mistakes. It does not give medical or dental advice, and it is not an emergency service. Patients with an emergency should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Practices should review important information, such as bookings and messages, and keep staff available for anything Lucy hands off.

The practice's responsibilities

  • Give us accurate information about the practice, such as hours, services, pricing and policies, and keep it up to date.
  • Get any patient consent the law requires, including consent to receive text messages and, where required, to call recording.
  • Use Lucy AI in line with the laws that apply to the practice, including HIPAA and marketing rules.
  • Sign a business associate agreement with us before Lucy handles patient information.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Lucy AI to send spam, harass anyone or break the law.
  • Try to get into accounts, data or systems you are not allowed to access.
  • Reverse engineer, copy or resell the service, or build a competing product from it.
  • Interfere with the service, overload it or get around its security.

We may suspend access if we reasonably believe these terms are being broken.

Fees

Fees, billing and payment terms are set out in the practice's service agreement or order with us. Using the website and signing in to the dashboard are free for invited staff.

Other services

Lucy AI connects to other services, such as practice management software, phone and text providers, and Google sign-in. Those services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for outages or changes on their side.

Ownership

We own Lucy AI, including the software, design and brand. The practice owns its data and its patients' information. We use that information only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy and the practice's agreements with us.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Lucy AI running and secure, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may improve or change features over time. If a change materially affects a practice's service, we will tell the practice first.

Disclaimers

Except as stated in a signed agreement, Lucy AI is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Lucy AI is limited to the amount the practice paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim.

Ending use

You can stop using Lucy AI at any time. A practice can end its service as set out in its agreement. We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms. When service ends, we return or delete practice data as described in our agreements and the law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Lucy AI after an update means you accept the new terms.
